Sachem East boys win. When it was over, the Sachem East bowlers did the “Jersey Shore” fist-pump. Maybe more apropos would’ve been the LaDainian Tomlinson stiff-arm dance.
The Arrows took an early lead and held off hard-charging East Islip, 6,547-6,489, to win their first county title since 2000. Middle Country placed third (6,331) and Smithtown fourth (6,293).
“We’ve hardly won anything before,” said Lee Keller, whose two-handed rolling style got him a 1,339. “We’re on top of the world.”
Bryan Evans rolled a 266 in Game 6 and his 1,415 series was the tournament high.
Bobby Martin’s 1,399 led East Islip. Tim Starkes (Sachem North) had a 1,391 and Tim Dobbins (Longwood) had a 1,388. Feb. 9
