Suffolk Division IV semifinals. Top-seeded Richard Sipala of Westhampton defeated No.4 Jack Keenan from Southampton, 6-4, 7-5, in the Suffolk Division IV individual tournament semifinal at Shoreham-Wading River.
In the other semifinal, No.3 Jeremy Dubin of Southampton beat second-seeded Henry Lee of Ross, 6-2, 6-0. Sipala and Dubin will meet in the final at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow at Shoreham-Wading River.
In the doubles semifinal, Westhampton’s top-seeded team of Greg Kandell and Eric Antunovich swept No.5 Kevin Schneider and Matt Benjamin of Longwood, 6-3, 6-3. May 10
Sipala wins Division IV. Top-seeded Richard Sipala (Westhampton) beat No.3 Jeremy Dubin of Southampton, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, and captured the Suffolk Division IV singles championship. In the doubles final, West Hampton’s top-seeded duo of Greg Kandell beat teammates Eric Antunovich beat Christian LaDu and Mike Hammond, 6-2, 6-3. Second-seeded Henry Lee of Ross beat No.4 Jack Keenan of Southampton, 2-6, 6-1, 6-1, in the third place match. In the doubles third place match, East Hampton’s team of Jona Sanabria and Dylan Sanicola beat Longwood‘s Kevin Schneider and Matt Benjamin, 6-0, 6-3. Each player advances to the Suffolk County final that begins on Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Suffolk CC-Selden. May 12
