Keenan Reader’s fast-break goal with 2:05 left in the second quarter gave Longwood a 4-2 lead in its 9-3 League I win over Middle Country. Longwood scored three unanswered goals in the third quarter to take a 7-3 lead in its 10-5 win over Connetquot. Jason Whiffen had two goals and two assists for Longwood . . . Sachem rallied from a 5-1 halftime deficit to beat West Islip, 8-5. Vinnie Hannigan scored all three of his goals in the second half, including the tie-breaking goal 3:57 into the fourth quarter. Chris Mach led five multiple-goal scorers with three goals and one assist as Sachem defeated Longwood, 12-2, yesterday to clinch the League I boys lacrosse title, according to Sachem coach Rick Mercurio. Chris Panos had a goal and three assists for Sachem (12-1 overall, 11-1 league). May 13

In League I, David Loiacono scored four times and added five assists as Longwood clinched a playoff spot in only its second year of varsity play with a 13-2 win over Floyd. May 17
