Brandon Hodge scored a career-high 46 points to lead Central Islip to a 76-59 win over Longwood last night in the Musketeers’ non-league boys basketball season opener.

Hodge, a senior shooting guard in his third season on varsity, scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to seal the win. He hit five three-pointers, and also aggressively attacked the basket and got to the line, where he hit 13 of 16 free throws. “Brandon is fearless going to the basket,” Central Islip coach Jim Mott said. “Last year teams saw him as a great perimeter shooter, which he is.
