Longwood girls’ swimming placed first for independents and 11th overall at the Section XI Championships!
With 29 points, Marissa placed seventh in the 200 IM at 2:13.37 and took second for the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.44.
Eighth-grader Brooke Orner had 28 points and placed fifth in the 50-free at 24:98 and fifth in the 500-yard free with a time of 5:46.41.
With 16 points, ninth-grader Julianna Tribble placed eighth in the 200 free with a time of 2:02.13 and took 12th place for the 100 free with a time of 56.88.
Best of luck to Marissa and Brook who will compete in states in two weeks!

Independent swimmers Marissa DeMarco and Brooke Orner took impressive wins at the New York State Girls’ Swimming and Diving Championships. Marissa placed third in the 100m breaststroke, and Brooke finished 16th overall in the 100m butterfly. Congratulations to Coach Sears, Marissa, and Brooke!
Congratulations also to senior Grace Michels on her outstanding five-year independent swimming career. Grace is the only senior on the team, and we wish her much success in the future!
