Congratulations to Longwood High School sophomore Marissa DeMarco on her fourth-place finish at the Suffolk County Championships in the 100-yard breaststroke last weekend at Stony Brook University!
Marissa’s time of 1:08.00 qualifies her to represent the district and Section XI – Suffolk County Athletics at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships held at Ithaca College on November 19, 2021.

Longwood High School tenth-grade student Marissa Demarco breaks record at New York State Public High School Athletic Association Girls Swimming Championship!
After qualifying for finals, Marissa’s time of 1:05.86 was the sixth-fastest overall, earning her an impressive tenth place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke, which improved 2.5 seconds from her original qualifying time. This outstanding accomplishment is the highest finish for any female swimmer from Longwood High School.

Congratulations to senior George Kipshidze for taking top honors in the boys swimming and diving championships at the Nassau County Aquatic Center.
George placed tenth for the 100-yard freestyle with an impressive time of 47.79, and competed in the finals for the 100-yard backstroke! Way to go, George!
