Longwood has four returning starters with Mike Karolewski and Mitchell Pincus leading the way. Steven Piazza and Nick Minichello are the other two returning starters who will have an impact. 

Karolewski made the All-Star team as a sophomore.

The Lions have the daunting task of facing League IV rivals Comsewogue and Floyd. The Colonials have all of their leading bowlers back for first-year coach Jaime Curley, and Pierce Field (220) is at the top of the list.

Longwood 2, Comsewogue 1: Nick Minichello bowled a 268 in Game 2 of a 677 series to lead Longwood (4-2) in its 1,151-950, 1,052-1,124, 952-846 League IV win. Mike Karolewski had a 671 series. Lions coach Doug Dwyer earned his 100th career victory. Dec. 14

Longwood 3, Eastport-South Manor 0: Mike Karolewski bowled a 263 in Game 1 of a 720 series and Nick Minichello had a 236 in Game 3 of a 658 series to lead Longwood (5-2) in its 1,075-999, 997-911, 1,021-895 League IV win. Dec. 19

Longwood 958 991 1027 Rocky Point 904 896 948 -Mike Karolewski bowled a 254 in Game 1 of a 658 series to lead Longwood (3-2) in its 958-904, 991-896, 1,027-948 League IV win. James Dunn came off the bench to bowl a 204 in Game 2 and a 254 in Game 3. Dec. 17

Longwood 3, Sachem North 0: Mike Karolewski had a 269 in Game 2 of a 770 series to lead Longwood (6-2) in its 1,101-860, 1,046-892, 1,012-977 League IV win. Jan. 7

Longwood‘s James Dunn and T.J. Hines won the doubles championship with a 454. Lindenhurst’s Anthony Cordovano and Sal Yannacone finished second with a 373. – Jan. 8

Longwood 2, Riverhead 1: Mitchell Pincus bowled a 228 in Game 2 of a 651 series in the 1,023-917, 1,014-947, 961-998 League IV win. Steven Piazza rolled a 234 in Game 3 of a 645 series for Longwood (7-2). – Jan. 10
