Seven 200 bowlers will create an exciting battle for best average. They are Mark Hiemer (203) of Ward Melville, Steve Silberman (202) of West Babylon, Pete Bohleber (202) and Jim Hazen (200) of Miller Place Mike Brunjes (201) of Longwood, Vincent Mazzurco (200) of Middle Country and Matt Sokoloff (200) of Sachem. Miller Place, West Babylon and East Islip seem to be the strongest challengers.

The Rocky Point boys bowling team staged its own version of the triple crown yesterday. Ninth-grader Tim Modavis bowled a 300 game, the first in school history. Rocky Point also posted its highest ever team score (1099). And to top it off, the Eagles beat defending county champ Longwood for the first time in school history.

Floyd finished third, followed by Longwood and Ward Melville. Longwood‘s Mike Brunjes rolled a 660 series with a 246 high game, and Jared Vollaro (Patchogue-Medford) had a 640 and 234.
