League III may have lost the county’s best bowler, but it does have a possible replacement in Longwood‘s Mike Brunjes (195), who earned first-team all-league honors last season as a seventh-grader. Jessica Smith (194), a junior who competes on the Miller Place team, also will be among the best in League III. The top bowler in League IV last season was also a girl, Southold’s Stacey Bokina (198), who is back for her senior campaign.

Chris Galatioto rolled a 267 game and a 700 series to lead Babylon to a League I win over West Islip. Galatioto also had games of 219 and 214. Andy Sanchelli led West Islip with a 237 game . . . Kevin Cheshire bowled a 224 as Riverhead beat Southold. Mike Wheeler bowled a 635 series for Southold and teammate Stacy Bokina bowled a 224 in the second game and finished with a 614 series . . . Joe Buscemi rolled a 257 game and finished with a 629 series in Patchogue-Medford’s win over Longwood. Mike Brunjes had a 642 series for Longwood . . . Pat Shalvoy bowled a 246 and finished with a 610 series as East Islip beat Connetquot. East Islip’s Bryan Gittleman bowled a 234 in the third game . . . Mike Fagan bowled a 224 in the second game and finished with a 604, and teammate Evan Numeroff added a 225 in the second game as Harborfields defeated Northport.

Paul Maugeri bowled a 225 in the first game to help Longwood defeat Port Jefferson . . . Jeremiah Raghunath rolled a 264 game and a 666 series to lead Smithtown to a victory over East Islip. Kevin O’Connor had a 244 game for East Islip. Jan. 30

In Suffolk boys bowling, Longwood broke a school record with 3,091 pins in three rounds for a 227 per-bowler average in a win over Ward Melville. The previous school record of 2,858 pins was set Jan. 23, 1991 in a win over Bellport. Stephen Hurley rolled a 244 high-game and a 651 high-series for Longwood. Eighth-grade teammates Mike Brunjes (646) and Paul Maugeri (650) also had 600 series. Brunjes had games of 228, 182 and 236 and Maugeri rolled 220, 221 and 209 games. Stefen Prins led Ward Melville with games of 226, 238 and 196 for a 650 series . . . Brad Ross bowled a high-game 268 in the third game to help Smithtown defeat Bay Shore. Jan. 31
