Joe Reilly of Shoreham has been inducted into the Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame based on his contributions to athletics in Suffolk County. Reilly, who is the track and field coach at Longwood High School in Middle Island, has earned the designation of League Coach a total of 46 times, County Coach a total of 33 times, and Suffolk County Coach of the Year a total of 17 times since 1983. His other achievements including having coached 140 all-county athletes, 63 all-state athletes, 20 state champions, two All-American athletes, and one Olympic qualifier during his career at Longwood. – Newsday, Combined editions; Long Island, N.Y. [Long Island, N.Y]. 09 May 2021

Congratulations to Longwood High School track and field coach, Joe Reilly, for being inducted into the Class of 2021 Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame!

Mr. Reilly was chosen based on his substantial contributions on behalf of Suffolk County sports, including the title of most wins in New York State history.

Reilly is only the third recipient in Longwood history to receive this prestigious honor, with Eric Brown and Kerry McCoy first and second.
