1. East Islip (10-0): Olivia Lopera finished the regular season with a 217 average, the second highest among Suffolk girls. Lopera, sisters Lyndsay and Melissa Mavrich, Julia Bocamazo and Jenny Murphy are all within the top 12 in county averages.

2. Bethpage (12-0): Sammi Ng, Carly Licht and Emily Dean had the three highest averages in Nassau through Monday. Ng leads the group with a 204.5 average and Licht and Dean follow with a 202.7 and a 194.4.

3. Longwood (7-3): Brielle Spillett and Rachel Hines tied for team high in average with a 194.93. Kristen McDermott is next with a 192.7. All three are within the top 15 in county averages.

4. Middle Country (9-1): Hannah Skalacki finished the regular season with a 211.28 average, the fourth best in Suffolk.

5. North Babylon (10-0): Skylar McGarrity led her team with a 209.88 average during the regular season. It’s the seventh best in the county.

The East Islip girls bowling team senior has been a leader this season for the perennial powerhouse, but said she’s never been to the state championship. Mavrich said East Islip went there in 2014, but she was an alternate and didn’t compete.

This time, the team couldn’t have made it without her. Mavrich bowled a 268 and a 258 in Game 2 and 4 of a 1,391 series to help East Islip win the Suffolk Championship with a total of 6,367. Middle Country finished second with a 5,940 and Longwood rounded out the top three with a 5,934. Feb. 7
