Brian Garofola hit a single to rightfield that scored Adam Searles in the top of the ninth as Bellport beat Longwood, 3-2, yesterday in a semifinal of the Shoreham-Wading River baseball tournament. Searles led off the inning with a double and was sacrificed to second on a bunt by Les Tse. Longwood scored twice in the bottom of the seventh, the tying run coming on a passed ball, to force extra innings. Rich Kaiser was the winner as Longwood beat Eastport, 9-0, in the consolation game of the Shoreham-Wading River Tournament. Kaiser pitched five innings, allowing two hits, striking out six and walking two. Scott Kittleson hit a two-out, three-run double in the third inning to give the Lions a 6-0 lead. Travis Trusnovic was 3-for-4 with two RBI for Longwood . . . Peter Miller had a two-run double in the top of the ninth to give Central Islip a 5-3 lead in its 7-4 victory over Half Hollow Hills East. Peter Kruger hit an RBI single in the bottom of the second inning to give Brentwood a 3-1 lead in its 5-1 win over Longwood in a League I game. Kruger went 2-for-3 with two RBI for Brentwood, while Ron Delgado earned the complete game win with seven strikeouts and one walk. Chris Kaiser’s triple drove in Dan Hugues for Longwood‘s only run. Mike Russo hit a one-out double to score Paul Spera in the bottom of the eighth as Longwood beat Floyd, 2-1. Jason Otto pitched a complete game, striking out six and allowing only two hits. Longwood took a 1-0 lead in the fifth on a squeeze by Scott Kittilson that scored Ben DeLeon. Floyd tied the game on an RBI single by Frank Williams in the sixth. Floyd’s Mike Hall threw six innings, allowing two hits and one run and striking out four. Travis Trusnovec had a two-run single in the third inning to give Longwood a 3-2 lead in its 6-2 win over Floyd (4-4). Trusnovec added a solo homer in the sixth to extend Longwood‘s lead to 4-2. Kevin Willi allowed no earned runs on three hits, with seven strikeouts and three walks to earn the win for Longwood (3-3) . April 18
