Longwood Clinches Tie:

Longwood clinched at least a tie for the League I dual meet title with an 85-64 win over Smithtown yesterday in boys track. Longwood‘s Mark Redavid ran the fastest time in Suffolk this season in the 800 meters with a 1:59.4, according to coach Mike Cohen.

Teammate Adam Wachter won the shot put with a throw of 50-10 and the discus with a throw of 145 feet while Jonas Nicholson won the 100 in 11.0 and the 200 in 22.3. Jeff Hyacinthe won four events for the Lions. He captured the long jump (20-9), triple jump (42-10), high hurdles (15.7) and the high jump (5-10).

Smithtown swept all three relays, including the 4 x 400 in which Ryan Walsh, Nick Betzold, Travis Davey and Will DeSantis clocked a 3:30.3, the fastest time in Suffolk this season.
