Clyde White hit a three-pointer with 22 seconds left to give Longwood a 61-59 lead, and the Lions held on to beat East Hampton, 64-61, yesterday in a boys non-league basketball game. Phil Arena’s steal set up White. Arena also made two free throws with seven seconds left.

Hector Rodriguez went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter, 9-for-9 for the game, and made three steals to lift Longwood (2-1) to a 54-45 victory over Patchogue-Medford (0-3). Rodriguez finished with 17 points and Clyde White added eight points and eight assists for the Lions.

Lahshone White hit a three-pointer with 2:30 left to give Longwood a 62-60 lead in its 67-63 League I win over Floyd last night in a boys basketball game. White finished with 12 points, Hector Rodriguez scored 22, Phil Arena had 10 points and 10 assists for Longwood (6-4). Floyd went on a 14-0 run in the third quarter to take a 50-46 lead at the end of the period, but Longwood outscored Floyd 22-12 in the fourth for the win. Dennis Ryan scored 15 of his 24 points in the third for Floyd (2-8)
